Award Submission Procedures and Standards.
Coaches will submit academic information online by the deadline date.
GPA’s will be accepted on a 4.00 or 4.33 scale. Any other GPA scales will need to be converted by the head coach prior to submission or by a computer program after submission.
The coach will be asked to submit the data on the web site in the following manner:
An alphabetical listing of the names of the players on their sectional roster.
A numerical listing of those player’s GPA’s listed from highest to lowest. This procedure should insure that player names cannot be matched to their GPA’s.
This procedure is being used for data privacy purposes, so that player’s names and their GPA’s are not related to each other.
Because some teams use freshman and/or foreign exchange students who do not have GPA’s. It is certainly possible that the two listings will not be equal. The number of student names, in this case, will exceed the number of listed GPA’s
Teams with a GPA of 3.75 to 4.00 will be awarded an Academic Award Plaque with a gold year plate. If they have an Academic Award Plaque from previous years, they will be awarded a gold year plate for the present year.
Teams with a GPA of 3.50 to 3.74 will be awarded an Academic Award Plaque with a silver year plate. If they have an academic Award Plaque from previous years, they will be awarded a silver year plate for the present year.
If for some reason, you can not submit your team GPA by the deadline date, you must contact the appropriate coordinator before the deadline, to be eligible for the award.
See the coaches packet for coordinators contact information if you need help.
The Minnesota State High School Soccer Coaches Association (MSHSSCA) will determine and award the the Academic Award winners.
